It’s not a buffet.

One of mine and Denies favorite things to do is visit the Golden Corrals buffet. We haverestaurant-buffet-coupon been to many different buffets in our life but to us the Golden Corral seems to be the best. You can choose from steak to pizza, veggies to tacos and of course, my favorite the desert bar. Loaded with countless selections, a person can certainly over indulge in the cuisine of their likings. Unlike ordering off a menu where at times we may pick something that just isn’t exactly as we expected, a buffet offers many varieties and options and if you don’t like it, well, you cover it with your napkin and head back to the bar for something new.

Personally, I am becoming more and more concerned with the growing number of people today which treat God and the Bible as if it where their personal  buffet. Picking and choosing at will what they wish to follow or not and whether what they believe applies to them or not.

a_light_unto_my_pathGod’s holy word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Every word is inspired by God and is perfect. It is without fault and applies to everyone. It is an owner’s manual for our life, a personal guide book for our future, step by step direction on child rearing and financial peace, and most of all contains the gift of salvation and eternal life. Even with all of these wonderful areas there are still countless promises within the covers of the Holy Bible. The one thing that we cannot do with the bible, however, is pick and choose what seems to fit our life and the way WE want to live it.

Jesus refers to this as Luke warm and in Revelations 3:16 He say’s “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth”. We will either choose to follow His word or not, we will either devote our life to Him or not, we will live for Christ………..or not.

As for me and my house, we WILL serve the Lord!
